The purpose of promotional products is to market your company – get the message across. This message is important and so is the budget. Even more so in the current economic situation – marketing dollars must be spent wisely. For every promotional piece that is thrown away or lost, money was wasted. Not the promotional products YOU selected, right? Wrong! More often than not, the trash bin is the final resting place for promotional products that just aren’t interesting to the target audience. Just how many key chains and water bottles can a person have? And that’s where creative marketing and the right promotional products will be most effective.

So, Ms. Marketing Director you’ve been tasked with finding just the right promotional products for the trade shows corporate will be exhibiting at next year. And it’s been made clear that the same old cliché items aren’t going to fly; Corporate wants a different angle, something new. Now what?

Picking promotional products that have nothing to do with the services provided is a great example of creative marketing. Take the large financial institution that distributed 25,000 pizza cutters imprinted with “Do you want a larger piece of the pie? Go to the website for more information”. The firm got 10,000 hits on their website in the first week and set 4,500 appointments. Now, that’s return on investment!
